My work explores a long time interest in connections, contradictions and relationships. I am assembling quadrilateral or quadrangle linear shapes into structures that reference the contours of my earlier vessels. These forms are influenced by volume, architecture, and inclusive taste in music; cool, bop, hip, rock, folk, scat, and the quirky. Ceramic process, the "abstract qualities" of glaze, and the hardness of porcelain meet my needs.
