The Pottery Workshop
Yi Design
Once the boiler room for a bed sheet factory, the Dali Pottery Workshop/Yi Design building was originally used for creating hot water to dye fabrics. Now it has been converted into a ceramics studio, office, design studio and gallery. It will be used to promote the art of hand made pottery through regular classes, lectures and demonstrations, research new ideas in ceramics, and develop fun and artistic home furnishing.
Architect Li Ye (Harvard University) has led the redesign of the Pottery Workshop building with the future in mind. Skylights are incorporated to reduce electricity consumption. Recycled ceramics are seen in our signature terrazzo flooring. Our philosophy in Dali is to reuse, recycle, and reinvent.
