Caroline Cheng
Executive Director

Executive Director of The Pottery Workshop. Cheng is aninternational well-known ceramic artist and curator. Cheng has brought together ceramicists notonly from the region, but from all over the world.  With herdedication and vision, she has become instrumental in nurturing ofyoung artists, encouraging dialogues and cultural exchanges.  Cheng received "Outstanding Achievement Award"from America National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) thisyear.  Cheng exhibits her works widely inthe world, her works are collected by collectors and museums such as "TheBritish Museum", Asian Art Museum, "NationalMuseum, Beijing",  "CeramicMuseum, Vallauris France", "Hong Kong Museum of Art",  "The Fitzwilliam, Cambridge" .

Andrea Moon 
Director - International Artist Residency

Andrea Moon, Co-Deputy Director is a ceramic artist, educator, and an administrator. She believes in the professional development of emerging artists and strives to support and coordinate resident artists in accomplishing their goals. Among teaching Ceramics at various institutions, Moon has participated in national workshops, and exhibits nationally and internationally. Her artwork is in private collections, and permanent collections such as Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, American Museum of Ceramic Art, and The Missoula Art Museum. 

Dryden Wells
Director of Education Center 

Wells first came to China in the Summer of 2006 as a resident artist of the Pottery Workshop. Captivated by Jingdezhen, he returned the following Summer for two months and in 2008, officially moved to Jingdezhen to manage and oversee production of the Pottery Workshop (PWS) - Design Studio (2008-2011). After a year (2011-12) of teaching Ceramics at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO, Wells moved back to China to work at the PWS - Shanghai location. Here he had the opportunity to instruct weekly studio classes, occasional college courses, and to continue the development of his own creative work. Returning to the States at the beginning of 2016, Dryden spent the Spring semester teaching at Northwest College, Powell, WY, after which he took a full-time teaching position, managing the University of West Florida's Ceramics department, for the 2016-17 school year. Since moving back to Jingdezhen this October, Wells now CO-Directs the Pottery Workshop Education Center and International Residency program with Andy Moon.

A prefecture-level city in Jiangxi Province, China, with a total population of 1,554,000. It is known as the "Porcelain Capital" because it has been producing quality pottery for 1700 years.

The city has a well-documented history that stretches back over 2000 years. Jingdezhen is one of the Chinese Historical and Cultural Cities, and was named one outstanding civilization & health city of Jiangxi Province, one tourist city of China by the end of 2007.

The Sculpture Factory

Established in 1956, the Jingdezhen Sculpture Factory is located in an eastern suburb, 6 kilometers away from downtown Jingdezhen. The factory is about 110 thousand square meters and 1300 workers,
including a national ceramic art master, 2 Jiangxi Provincial ceramic art master, 36 high standard craftsmen, and over 400 other craftsmen. It is considered to have one of the largest groupings of master craftsman of any sculpture factory.
